1851-52, 3¢ brownish carmine (11), large margins to barely in BL, bold manuscript. "3" cancel, on light buff cover with clear "Hagamans Mills. NY./ Aug.23, 1852" straightline postmark, neat docketing at L. and manuscript. "Mail Direct" in an unknown hand, Very Fine, a rar e postmark (only 3 or 4 known), and particularly desirable with an 1852 year date; this is the cover from which the tracing in Simpson/Alexander was made.
