P M Steamer/ Oregon, in bold manuscript. written entirely on striking vertical pair of 3c rose red (11) with straddle margin at left and significant parts of stamps from adjoining pane, large margins to bit in other sides, on cover to New York; slightly reduced at R. and corners clipped at left, still Fine. This important Pacific mail marking, undoubtedly applied on board, is most likely a route agent marking, though some students considered it have to been written by a ship's officer; in any case, it is unique.
