1854-55, 3¢ rose red (11), horizontal pair, large margins to touching, tied by bold "STEAM/ SHIP" hs on large part of Oct. 1854 folded cover to New York with nice strike of blue oval "Stmer. Sierra Nevada/ Via Nicaragua/ Advance of the Mails"; cover with only top back flap remaining and skillfully mounted onto the face of another similar blue lettersheet, Very Fine appearance.
