1851-52, 3¢ brownish carmine (11), two singles, left with margins to cutting at T., right with ample to huge margins showing part imprint & "No. 1", barely in at L., very attractive color, tied together by "San Francisco Cal. 1 Mar." c.d.s. on buff cover t o East Hardwick, Vt., pencil note indicates 1852 usage; cover edge faults, Fine and very scarce with plate number.
