1854-55, 3¢ rose red (11), two horizontal strips of three, margins to slightly in, tied by "San Francisco Cal. 1 May" pmks. on U2 entire to Long Island with nice clear strike of "From/ Noisy Carriers/ MAIL./ 77 Long Wharf S.F. Cal." in Green, 1855 docketin g on reverse, making this a double 10c with a 1c overpayment, Nesbitt seal on flap; entire with closed tear into oval and opening tears at TR edge, still a Very Fine and important usage.
