1852, 3¢ dull red (11), two horizontal strips of three, margins to touched except stamp at far left cut in at left, tied by four strikes of blue "Charleston S.C. 3 Paid Feb. 25" c.d.s. on rebacked front to Mexico City, via New Orleans and Vera Cruz, possibly franked for six times the overland rate, bold "Vera Cruz Mar. 20" and matching "4" due, cover extended slightly at left for appearance. Fine usage.
