1861, 3¢ rose (65), tied by bold New York City geometric on 3c Pink entire (U34) to Jersey City, N.J. with Well Fargo Paid printed frank and originally canceled by blue "Wells Fargo & Co. Virginia City N.T. Aug. 12", oval, the stamp appears to have been added on Sep. 16th, though it is not clear whether for forwarding or for being overweight; 1864 docketing at left, Very Fine usage.
