Confederacy, Thomas Jordan, transmitted copy of message to General Beauregard on South-Western Telegraph Co. sheet dated Mar. 18, 1862: "I will do the best possible about the movement of the trains- the trouble is at Bethel & Henderson where a number of trains are loading up as slowly and perversely as volunteers can do. I have urged Bragg to look at them. That Regiment at Lexington- it appears- I ordered to join its Brigade & it will either come here or more probably will go to Henderson which is nearer even than this place. I have sent a messenger with orders for it to go to Henderson if road is practicable if not to come here forthweith. Yours TJ"; repaired tear, Fine. As Colonel, Jordan was on the staff of Beauregard. Promoted to brigadier general in Apr. 1862, he served as chief of staff with General Bragg.
