War-dated 5 x 8 ALS to historian Benson Lossing, Washington, Feb. 3, 1865, 1¼pp. (1st & 2nd pages of folded sheet) gives permission to include his likeness in Lossing's "History of the Rebellion" but has no photograph of himself to send. Light toning at edges.
