Chopin, Frederic (1810-1849), Polish composer-pianist, settled in Paris in 1831. Known for romantic style piano pieces, inc. études, nocturnes, sonatas, concertos; died at age 39. 5 x 7 ALS in French (with translation), Nov. 15 (year unknown). The composer expresses his pique at a publisher: "Be so good as to hand to the bearer the 900 francs - who will give you my receipt - and tell me definitely the publication date for which I am writing the others", signed "Chopin". Beautifully and imaginatively inset-matted in a shadow box frame below a copy of a small bust of Chopin and above a copy of a musical score and a metal plaque with identification and translation, five inches deep, 21 x 36 overall. A dramatic presentation of a rare and desirable autograph.
