Catherine II (the Great) (1729-1796), Empress of Russia 1762-96, mistress and 2nd wife of Peter the Great. 21 x 14½ heavy paper DS, "Ekaterina" in Cyrillic as Empress, August 8, 1769. Not translated but apparently a consular appointment. Huge imperial seal affixed at lower left, nice dark signature, exceptional condition.
