U.S Military and Political Autographs 1785-1972, approximately. 100 autographs on letters, folded letters, checks, documents and photographs neatly housed and priced in a large binder with a total retail price of $5,000.00. While there are a few other categories, the majority are U.S. Navy autographs including. various admirals and Secretaries of the Navy (1813-1921) such as James Forestal. Perhaps the most important item is an 1801 letter (invitation to breakfast) by William Wilberforce, the famous British abolitionist. However, there are also various notable elected officials e.g. George Norris, Alfred Driscoll and Hamilton Fish; there is a second binder with mostly illustrated 19th and early 20th century letterheads (often with original covers) as well as some other Americana. Dealer's total retail of $1,200.00; a F-VF and most attractive lot, well worth inspecting.
