1923, 2¢ carmine coil, type I (599), tied by Boston slogan cancel, Jan 17, 1927, on cover carried by dog sled along Star Route 2995 from Boston to Claremont, N.H., manuscript inscription "Via Dog-Team-Mail/Sichin 66," postmarked Claremont Jan 24, backstamped Albany Jan 29, Very Fine. Two sleds carried mail from Minot, Me. (one sled was driven by the postmaster of Minot) to Albany, N.Y. via Boston, Concord, and Claremont; accompanied by photostat of Postal Bulletin of Jan 15 authorizing the service for one trip provided such service be without expense to the department, and by two contemporary newspaper clippings reporting the trip.
