World War II Era New York Newspapers, two large cartons of front sections of the N.Y. Times or Journal American with headlines and articles relating to the war including declarations of war on Japan and Germany, battles, dropping the A-bomb on Japan, and surrender and aftermath including the Feb 25th Times with the original AP photo of the marines raising the flag over Iwo Jima; also including sunday magazine sections from the Times plus a few other papers and magazines (Life magazine with Gen. MacArthur, "Commander of Japan"); turning quite brittle and in need of preservation but a fascinating lot.
