1866 Cover to California, 1859 12½¢ yellow green (18), vertical pair and two singles tied by grid cancels on mourning cover from Toronto to New Westminster, British Columbia, postmarked Jan 29 Toronto broken circle with manuscript instruction "Via New York", docketed on reverse Mar 18; insignificant perf flaws, fresh and very fine, a unique usage, the only recorded example of a 50¢ rate to California.
