1850 Folded letter to Scotland, datelined San Francisco Nov 1, to Lindithgow, Scotland carried privately to a forwarding agent in New York as per address instructions on outer panel, then transferred to Cunard ship Europa where also similarly treated until arrival in Liverpool, where G.B. 1d red brown (3) was applied to pay domestic postage and cancelled "466", Dec 23 Liverpool double arc despatch and Dec 24 London transit c.d.s. on reverse, Very Fine.
