Lot 1277
90¢ Carmine & black (122), rejoined mint block of 8, consisting of two blocks of 4. Rich colors, some additional reinforced and rejoined perforations. Disturbed o.g. Centered to left. Scott $210,000
Expertization: 1984 P.F. Certificate for bottom block of 4.
The largest known, naturally occuring multiples are two recorded blocks of six. However, given the exact match of centering and identical gum condition of this block, one could easily surmise that the two had actually been a block of eight at some time in the past. A daunting multiple.
