THE FINEST OF THE 5¢ PAIRS FROM THE HABERSHAM CORRESPONDENCE.

Expertization: 2000 P.F. Certificate.

Provenance: Arch

What had been the finest pair from the Habersham correspondence was purchased by a dealer several years ago, who then removed the top stamp from the cover to sell as an off-cover single.

Princeton did not receive a supply of 5¢ stamps from Washington but did obtain a quantity from New York City in November 1847.
