1847, 5¢ red brown (1), ample to large margins, rich color and clear impression, pen cancelled on 1850 folded letter headed Walpole and addressed locally, but postmarked with red "Bellows Falls Vt. Nov. 23" c.d.s. partly struck at left, fresh and Fine, rare usage.

Walpole is just across the river from Bellows Falls; the writer probably intended this as a drop letter but carried it with him in error.
