1847, 5¢ red brown (1), large margins to just in at upper right, late impression, tied by bold small black "Paid" in grid and red "Boston 3 cts 6 Sep." c.d.s. on 1851 folded letter to Great Falls, N.H., used more than two months after demonetization and accepted as paid by the Boston office; stamp with light pre-use crease near bottom and tiny tear, Very Fine usage. Illustrated in Alexander, p. 863.
