In 1960, the March issue of The Bureau Specialist contained an intriguing description of a composite booklet which in its salient details appears to match the booklet offered here. The author, W.R. Kerns ("Booklets & Booklet Panes" column, p. 71), who preferred the term "booklet with composite covers", stressed its rarity and asked readers to report others. No reports were forthcoming. This was also the last time the booklet was described in print anywhere. Although we prefer not to speculate as to its whereabouts after all these years, we feel strongly that this booklet is the one described by Kerns; it resurfaced in a balance lot of U.S. booklet material in 2001.
