This cut square lay dormant in the owner's desk for a number of years with the notation "to be studied later." When he finally brought it to us, we showed it to Jerry Summers who verified that it is indeed a new variety. He indicated that he will list it in the upcoming edition of the U.P.S.S. catalogue. Subsequently, Jim Kloetzel, editor of the Scott catalogue, also told us that this cut square will be given a full number designation in future Scott U.S. catalogues.
