LATIN AMERICA COLLECTION, Excellent, very comprehensive collection in eight Scott Specialty albums and five stockbooks. The albums contain mainly used early 19th century and primarily mint late 19th and 20th century. The stockbooks consist of all mint stamps removed from the albums for Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Chile, and Dominican Republic. Both groups are surprisingly strong and, though missing the key values of some scarcer sets, include plenty of elusive sets and singles in the $25-$75 range. Condition is a bit mixed on the classics, but with plenty of sound F-VF material; the later material is generally F-VF. While the term "starter collection" is used rather loosely to mean a collection without much "meat", this is truly the ultimate starter collection with most of the basics already in place; all one need do is start tracking down the rarities.
