von Brauchitsch, Heinrich Alfred Hermann Walther (1881-1948), German general field marshal [general of the army] who formally commanded the campaigns against France, Greece, Netherlands, Poland, Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union, relieved of command by Hitler after recommending strategic retreat on the Russian front.
PS, 3½" x 5½", undated chest-up portrait in uniform on postcard by Hoffmann of Munich boldly signed "von Brauchitsch" in black ink.
