Maria Theresa [Theresia] (1717-1780)., Archduchess of Austria, Holy Roman Empress, queen of Hungary and Bohemia (1740-80), only female ruler in the Hapsburg dynasty (650 years), daughter of Charles VI, mother of Joseph II, Leopold II, and Marie Antoinette.
MsDS in Latin, matted to 8½" x 12½", Vienna, 1755 Jan 24. Writes to a Cardinal Joanni Jacobo of the Holy Roman Church, boldly signed "Maria Theresia", no formal translation. Very well preserved, Fine, not formally translated. Matted (with cutout on back of frame showing integral address leaf and mostly complete Royal seal) with hard-colored engraved portrait on horseback and engraved steel biographical plaque, framed to an overall 21½" x 25½".
