St. Louis, Mo., 1845, 5¢ black on greenish (11X1), type III, position 5, ample to huge margins, irregular at left, neat little pen cancel, on 1846 folded letter to William G. Pettus in St. Charles, red "St. Louis Mo. Feb. 15" c.d.s. struck just opposite stamp, matching "Paid" with manuscript "Paid" and "5" written twice; cover with small waterstain at right, stamp with tiny sealed tear in left margin, still Very Fine.
