St. Louis, Mo., 1845, 5¢ black on greenish (11X1), vertical strip of three, types I-II-III, positions 1/3/5, plus a type III single (position 5), strip with large margins to touching, single has ample to large margins, each with matching cancel consisting of two pen strokes, on 1846 double rate folded letter to Charnley & Whelen in Philadelphia, red "St. Louis Mo. May 2" c.d.s. and matching "Paid" handstamp, manuscript "20" rate; cover with small tear, and bottom stamp with crease from file fold, Very Fine usage.

THE UNIQUE EXAMPLE OF THE 20¢ RATE MADE UP BY FOUR 5¢ STAMPS AS WELL AS THE ONLY STRIP OF THREE OF THE 5¢ GREENISH ON COVER.
