Revenue, 1871 Second Issue, $500 "Persian Rug" (R133), exceptionally well centered, strong colors. Neat violet manuscript cancel and "Surrogates Office/New York handstamp". Tiny corner crease and light diagonal crease, small thin spot, added perf at top. A very attractive Extremely Fine appearing example of this rare revenue of which only 204 were printed, #26-4 in the Kingsley census.
