[Hawaii] Canada 1888, 3¢ bright vermilion (41), tied by Ontario squared circle on 1896 cover to Steilaco, Wash., forwarded to Lihue, Kauai with U.S. 1¢ 2¢ & 4¢ (264, 267, 269) tied by targets, Steilaco c.d.s., July 9, handstamped purple "Collect 16 Cents" ("16" in red crayon), backstamped Tacoma, Honolulu and Lihue; reduced a bit at left with light all-over toning, Fine, a wonderful mixed franking.

The postmaster at Honolulu apparently treated this as a short-paid triple weight letter, while the Washington postmaster handled it as printed matter.
