Mendenhall in Tokyo, Japan, redirected to Columbus, Ohio, "Yokohama May 24, 1882" c.d.s. opposite stamp, reverse with Boston, two different San Francisco transits, an earlier Yokohama postmark. and finally a Columbus, O. receiving postmark (Mendenhall had returned in 1881 to teach at Ohio State), Harvard College Observatory corner card, Very Fine usage.
