Nebraska Territory Letters, two from Omaha City, first is 1856 letter describing growth of town and rise in prices for real estate, and notes, "We had a western storm that blew down one 3-story brick block meeting house and several other buildings"; the other is an excellent 3 1/2 page letter from an anonymous legislator writing to his girlfriend in Ohio in 1857: "I told you something in regard to the corruption practiced by the clique of this place heretofore, but this session it exceeds anything ever known before. The parties interested in this town are offering Bribes opening upon the street and in fact have even succeeded in tempting one or two of our men to turn their principles for the paltry sum of 4,000 dollars." etc. Each with original envelope franked with 3¢ 1851, bold postmarks, Fine-Very Fine.
