Newspapers, 1865, 5¢-25¢ with manuscript "adopted" overprints (PR1-PR3 var.), unusual complete set of the 1865 issue well centered with fresh colors 5¢ with tiny perf cut at upper right, 10¢ with light crease, still Very Fine.

J. Frank Braceland claimed that these stamps were the first printed examples of the 1865 issue, and the writing was that of the Postmaster General or the engraver, indicating the acceptance of these stamps by the Post Office Department.
