Treasury Dept., 1873, 10¢ and 2¢ (O77 [2], O74 [2]), pair of each tied by fancy New York Foreign Mail cancels (Weiss GE-EP1), red "New York P.O., May 29" (1875) c.d.s., on legal size cover to Liverpool, England, red "Paid, Liverpool, U.S. Packet, 8 Ju 75" receiver at left; extensive restoration of upper left portion of cover, both front and back, stamps with perforation flaws, small repaired tear at top partly separates the 10¢ pair, Very Fine appearance, quadruple the 6¢ per ½ oz. treaty rate only one month before institution of the uniform G.P.U. rates.

Weiss records usages of this NYFM marking between May 29 and June 14, 1875, a period of just over two weeks. He reports only four covers- this being a fifth and a second instance of the earliest documented use.
