Lot 202

United States Walter G. Crosby balance collection, diverse balance of approximately 3000 covers that are loose, in plastic album pages and in about a dozen albums including two large 16x16 blue Crosby albums with six gold imprints on the front cover (that are really empty). A wide range of topics are here such as FDCs, special events, WWII patriotics (including "Free" franks), Canada first flights (most non-Crosby handstamp cachets), New Zealand and four albums of modern vintage WWII naval ship p.p.c.'s. Also present in this lot is a fascinating balance of Crosby collateral material with everything from price lists to advertising flyers, photos (as a young and old man), naval programs, signed letters, unused cachet imprints/photos, three gorgeous black photo U.S.S. Constitution season's greetings cards, a 1948 signed letter from Mrs. Crosby announcing the discontinuance of manufacturing FDCs, 20 large multi-colored naval mock "documents" including four beautiful 1944 Alaska/Husky ones for entering Alaskan waters, misc. papers and five 2-4" diameter medallions. Lastly included is some literature such as two complete Planty catalogues and two volumes of naval ship cancels/cachets. Allow some time to view this lot for additional uncovered better items.
