U.S. 1859, 10¢ green, type V (35), tied by "San Francisco Cal/Jan. 25, 1861" c.d.s. on Noisy Carrier's illustrated envelope, depicting lady receiving a letter from a well-dressed top hatted carrier originating in British Columbia to Onion Grove, Iowa, "pr Overland Mail, Paid 15 cts", JB" (J. Barnard), showing "Post Office/Coat of Arms/Victoria V.I." oval origin handstamp adjacent, envelope a little reduced at left and slightly worn, nevertheless an extraordinary usage and an exceedingly rare design.
