1882, 5¢ yellow brown (205), single tied by four bar open grid on blue cloth-lined mourning envelope from the U.S. Consulate at Ningpo, China to Mojave, California, with light but complete strike of "U.S. Postal Agency Shanghai 11 Aug. 88" large double oval in purple, manuscript. "On So. Pa. R.Rd." at lower left, San Francisco entry postmark on reverse; stamp with small faint water stain at top, still attractive, Fine and very scarce.
