1882, 5¢ yellow brown (205), single with nat. s.e., small smudge cancel, matching "Asbury Park N.J. Aug. 9, 1887" c.d.s. on cover to a naval surgeon at Panama, U.S. of Colombia, short paid double rate with "U.S. Charge to Collect 10 Cents" handstamp, "T 25" due handstamp, reverse with Colombia 5¢ blue on bluish (130) vertical pair used as postage due and tied by Panama c.d.s., forwarded to the U.S.S. Mohican en route to Hawaii and postmarked Honolulu in November, then redirected to the mainland, reverse with San Francisco transit and Washington D.C. receiving postmark; cover with opening tear at right edge, small wax seal stain at center, Fine and rare, can be exhibited with bottom flap opened out to show Colombian pair.
