Parcel Post, 1913, 1¢-$1 set, handstamped "Colonias" in violet (Q1-12 var.), some with natural straight edge. Without gum as expected as these were stuck into sample books. F.-V.F.

The handstamps were applied by the Portuguese postal authorities as specimen overprints prior to being sent out to their colonies for reference purposes in accordance to U.P.U. regulations, very few sets exist.
