1847, 5¢ red brown (1), ample to large margins, sharp impression and striking shade with a strong grayish cast, red grid, matching "Bennington Vt. Mar. 27" c.d.s on 1850 folded cover to New York, some natural bleach spots along file fold, otherwise Very Fine. Despite accompanying P.F. Certificate, we feel this shade is the Grayish Brown.
