1860, 30¢ orange (38), tied by large "Paid" in grid on folded letter to Paris, France, red "Boston 24 Nov 14, 1860" exchange postmark, additional black Boston postmark on reverse, business contents with interesting comments: "the election has come off & the only person we have elected on our side has been Mr. Appleton, the Abe Lincolns carried all the rest. Today we have a dreadful war & secession cry from the South, which sounds quite serious." Fresh lettersheet, Very Fine usage.
