1861, 3¢ rose (65), tied by one of two strikes "UNION" in 5-point star on small cover postmarked "West Hampton Mass Dec 29 1866" c.d.s., the second strike placed so as to void an incorrect c.d.s. dated Dec 26; Very Fine and most unusual.

Apparently the datestamp had not been used since the 26th and the clerk failed to notice or he mistook the "6" for a "9". He realized his error after applying the datestamp and then corrected it.
