Chattahoochee F.T. / May 4, manuscript postmark on 1839 folded letter to Quincy, Florida, manuscript "6¼" rating written over by "12½" and "double" added, letter contained a list of voters in the city being sent to the county seat; couple light file folds, F.-V.F., illustrated in the Florida stampless handbook.

THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THE MANUSCRIPT CHATTAHOOCHIE TERRITORIAL TYPE II POSTMARK.

The act of April 9, 1816 created a 6¢ rate for single letters not over 30 miles. The 6¼ rate was adapted by postmasters to correspond with the circulating currency valued at 6¼¢.
