Fort Brooke, Feb 5, 1838, datelined two page letter carried by military courier, from the quarter master to Lt. Morgan at Fort Dade, informing him that twenty-two wagon loads of forage was en route to his post, Very Fine and interesting letter. Estimate 200 - 300
Fort Brooke on Tampa Bay was the principle port for supplies during the Seminole War. Fort Dade was about 50 miles northeast of Fort Brooke.
