Fort Brooke, Feb 5, 1838, datelined two page letter carried by military courier, from the quarter master to Lt. Morgan at Fort Dade, informing him that twenty-two wagon loads of forage was en route to his post, Very Fine and interesting letter.

Fort Brooke on Tampa Bay was the principle port for supplies during the Seminole War. Fort Dade was about 50 miles northeast of Fort Brooke.
