According to Robert Gibbs, "one horizontal row of four of this error of value may well have been part of the official issue." Such varieties of the mark values, irrespective of their debatable unofficial status, are "extremely rare and have no genuine counterparts," and as such "are both desirable and valuable." This stamp realised £290 in the 1959 Bute sale.
