New Britain, 1914-15, 3d on 30pf black and orange on buff, variety surcharge double (SG 23, 23g), Setting X, position 2, being the top stamp in a vertical pair se-tenant with a normal, on piece, tied by "Rabaul, New Britain/Jan 7 1915" oval d.s. in violet. Extremely Fine. Rare and appealing, only 20 examples are believed to have been printed. Michel 8II, 8DD.
