1862 (May 21) Shanghae to Ispwich, dateline on folded letter with ship endorsement "pr Mandarin", reverse with red "Forwarded by Weston & Gary / New York" forwarders handstamp, entered U.S. mails with "New York Oct 3, 1862" double-circle datestamp with 3¢ rose (65) tied by four-ring cancel, enclosed letter mentions that a trunk was sent per Mandarin with a second trunk being held for the Fairy due to a lack of available room.
