1895 (Oct. 21) Hankow to Groton, Mass., large purple "Consulate of the United States * Hankow" double-oval origin postmark on back of cover bearing Man & Fish trademark of Scott's Emulsion patent medicine on flap, front franked with 2¢ carmine lake (249) pair tied by "U.S. Postal Agency Shanghai Oct 26, '95" duplex (1¢ stamp missing at right), three page typed letter with marvelous content from gentleman setting up Scotts Emulsion agencies in China, good description of trip up the Yangtse-Kiang River, chair ride in Hankow, dislike of missionaries, etc., all on Scott's letterhead, company trading card enclosed; cover and letter with pinholes, Fine and rare usage from Hankow.
