Yokohama to Delaware via San Francisco, bearing 5¢ brown (76) pair tied through perforations by rim of "Forwarded by / U.S. Consul / Kanagawa, Japan" oval handstamp on cover carried on the maiden return trip of the P.M.S.S. China leaving Yokohama on Dec. 7, 1867 and arriving into San Francisco on Dec. 31, bearing the magenta "China and Japan / Steam Service" oval handstamp, "San Francisco, Cal. Jan 1" c.d.s.; couple stamp faults, Very Fine, one of two recorded covers bearing the consul handstamp used on the last day of usage.
