Liberia 1840 (Aug 30) letter from Monrovia, datelined folded letter from Rev. H. Teage to Ben Coates in Philadelphia, Pa., blue "6" in octagon rating handstamp, letter explains in detail the converting of funds of the Methodist Episcopal Mission by one Mr. Seys, local superintendent of the missions, Very Fine. Reverand H. Teage emigrated to Liberia arriving March 1821. He was a merchant and editor of the Liberian Herald.
